Lincoln Gardens is located between Lumsden and Craven along the Qu’Appelle River.
The farm has been a market garden for many decades. Wayne purchased Lincoln Gardens in 1987. Many of the local youth have worked at Lincoln Gardens over the years, and some old timers remember coming to the farm back to the 1960′s. Of course we have made a lot of changes and upgrades over the years, and expanded the acreage.
Currently we have 130 acres under production. Almost 30 of those acres are organic and the remaining 100 acres are a combination of organic and IPM production. We grow herbs, berries, fruit, and all kinds of vegetables from Aubergine to Zucchini!
We love our land. Many of the areas of the farm have been left natural with tall grasses and native trees that provide homes for wildlife. We are regularly visited by deer, coyotes, owls, eagles, beavers and other little creatures who share our land. The trees literally sing with the sounds of birds who make their home here!
During the summer months we welcome visitors to spend time on the farm, picking berries or shopping in the on-farm market. There is a shaded picnic area that visitors can enjoy after a day of berry picking or anytime that a rest would be in order.
Schools, daycare and service groups are welcome to reserve a tour of the farm which provides information about vegetable farming and a walk around the farm tailored to the age of the group. Pumpkin tours are the most popular with kids. (Visitors are not able to wander the farm without a guided tour. Please remain in the Public Access areas at all times.) Call the farm for guided tour appointment times and fees.
